if you mean the hard drive open the pc and remove it then keep it to use in another pc where you can format it and use as storage.

Yes. Remove the HDD(s) and either keep or physically smash with a hammer

if you do decide to take it to the tip why not advertise it on your local freecycle im sure some magpie will take it

Download and run adwcleaner check report txt file, hit the fix/clean button it will reboot the system.
Then if browser is not running properly download new Firefox ( or Chrome if you like fluent audio/video/streaming).

I'm running a 12 yrs old XP I revised the power supply this springbreak,
then upgrade from 768MB to 1GB ram (was 256 stock loool in 2002)

No freeze, no BSOD and I have an heavy russian expensive firewall.

Yes not very suitable for video streaming because cpu easily jump to 100%
while streaming but it doesn't overheat and if the mobo fail is not a big loss,
all data are in a external 2TB hdd.

going to attempt to get the hdd removed tonight or tomorrow then give it a battering with a hammer, can i just send all the icons on desktop to the recycle bin internet explorer/firefox/sat loader etc etc because i dont know if i can do a factory re-set or if it would be even worth doing that?

once the hd has been removed and battered it will not matter because the hd will be unusable.
