yes you can i have one works fine, you have to alter a setting in the bios you will need driver manager or something like it to get the drivers just Google it you will find the instructions.

Right but I don't know if it works with garage tools: Vmare so you'll leave Win8 and you could run XP or Linux distro inside Win8.

As far as I know XP doesn't really support ssd-s....but I think I read of an application somewhere that helps XP handle them. YOu might want to google it as I don't know more than this. Not sure if you will have drivers for it. Have your tried running the setup for XP? Does it recognize your hard drive? If not did you try setting SATA mode in BIOS to compatibility/IDE mode? As for the rest of the drivers if toshiba has no support for XP for your lappy, you might still want to try to install the drivers anyway....maybe they will do so without making problems. Or you will have to install everything manually from device manager.

I have done a dual boot once, and you will have to install your windows' in chronological order, so XP first THEN 7. But you will also need a program called easyBCD, because you need to configure the boot manager to have your option for winXP appear again (because 7 overwrites it). Also if you go for the virtual machine way, you can also you virtualbox....it's free and IMHO much simpler and easier to use than vmware.

Windows xp has no support, but that does not mean there will be no updates.

With windows 98 they ditch support and updates, but theres a lot of users still on XP including lots of businesses that have custom software that needs xp, so I wouldn't be supprised if MS still released major security updates still.

yea, this should work, if you have org XP disks and load it this way...so for only private office use and NO internet connetion, then using with with older software, should be fine...but really you need to get users up to speed on other platforms.
