Hi All.

I am looking to buy a new laptop and have a budget of around ?400-?450.
I am looking for minimum 1TB memory and a 17" screen with the best specs available for the price?

Can someone help me out with some advice on what the best one to buy is please?

Is there a huge difference in Windows 7 to 8.1? Don't really like the look of 8 tbh!
Also if I ask for 7, will the specs be similar in terms of processor etc?

yes win 8.1 utter pish win 7 no pish, dont forget win 10 is out next year so that says a lot for win 8 or 8.1 init, when you get one go for at least i3 processor better still i5 or i7 but the price increases, minimum 4gb ram but the more the better on that, i wouldnt worry to much about the 1tb hdd external hdds not expensive to store stuff on, and dont forget if you have loads of stuff on a 1tb hdd and it ferks up you might have lost a lot of stuff so always back up.

Im still on Vista tbh... laptop is about 7 years old hense the reason i am looking for advice on upgrading! LOL

vista shite you could always stick win7 on the lappy and bit more ram in it if it aint got much, as soon as stocks of win 7 lappys run out in the shops there will be no more as they are stopping selling them with win 7 on, there will be just win 8, and when win 10 is out when stocks of lappys with win 8 on run out they will stop, but theres is always places to download copies of any win os.
