You need to install Xp first onto a new (either virgin or formatted) hard drive, then install win 7. The win 7 install will create a new partition and also create a boot option on the bios post startup screen.

Remember xp is no longer supported, only xp embedded is getting security updates.

An easier solution is to install a VMware program in win 7 and install xp into the vm.

    hth a little, Dave.

Hi. The best solution, and I would say the easiest, is to install BootIt Bare Metal from TeraByte. Then you can have any mix of OS's you like, and multiple copies of each. It is a fantastic program and easy to use. Indispensable if you constantly test and install new software. I would rate it utility of the decade myself.

      Kind regards Dx.

VMWare does the same job and is good for testing
