I need some help choosing a new lappy

    I'm looking for a lappy.

Have a look at this one for me and let me know what you think - make, spec and value for money etc

    Tosh L300D

basically usual work/office type applications, photo and video making / editing. Nothing exceptional, don't use it for gaming. Was just really looking for something with reasonable storage and fast, with some future proofing.

Any alternatives around the same price range too.

It would be difficult to suggest a laptop for me as i always disliked them due to difficulty and being expensive when changing parts or repairing.
However as you will be working with photo and video editing any extra ram will be better. HDD size you can always hook up an external drive so dont compare laptops on HD size. Also look for models numbers on the net to see what previous users have thoughts or experiences with certain models as some of them are awfull in thermal design and will cause the hardware to fail in early stages.

Use below site to distinguish between processors performance and heat output etc.
    Code:

Pentium dual core t4200 looks to be better then what you ve chosen and should be in same price group.

Below unit looks like a better specification then the one you posted. Should look for more information regarding Acer support and thermal design on this model tough.

No problem at all , i hope it meets your expectations, Although it is around ?399 price range actual value is around ?459 + but lot of places have done discounts and reduced the price. Enjoy your new toy.

If you are buying a laptop, I highly suggest you go to a store with many different models so that you can get to physically see it. Almost all brands now have nearly the same specs, and can be customized to have the usual dual core, 1-8 GB of RAM, 80 GB-500 GB Hard Drive.

One thing that surprise some people is the weight of the laptop. Make sure you get one with a big enough size, but light enough if you do some travel. If you don't travel, just look for a Desktop, its cheaper and faster.

Hey, I need some help getting a new laptop.

I need a reliable one for:

                School
                Editing (montages, graphics etc..)
Casual gaming (I have an ps3 so I dont need anything to flash)

I need it to be reasonably quick, with a decent graphics card.
