    Upgrading from XP

    can anyone help me out on which OS would be ideal? am i able to have an .ISO mounted to a virtual drive & install either Win7 or Win8 from there? or what is the best way to go about it?

    download a copy of win 8.1 and install it....however, make sure that ur pc supports the min requirements for the OS.

        better do a clean install.. make a windows dvd and install it from there

          It depends of amount of available RAM. "Old" computers with less than 1,5 G RAM will too slow with new OSes.
          Also if you have more than 4 G RAM (include video memory), you'll need to install 64 bit OS
