MKV to AVI

Anyone know how to convert a MKV to AVI..?? I have the following program OJOSoft, but it gets to 30secs then fails..

Any other ideas..??

i have used a prog called 'any video convertor' in the past to do this... but i do not have a link for it m8, sorry..

MKV is just a container format (like a rar or zip) it just contains the video file, audio file and pissibly a few subtitle files.

AVI is exactly the same with the exception that it can only store a single video and audio file.

Virtualdub should be able to convert it in a matter of minuites using direct stream copy (as your not really converting anything)

I had same problem, but I solved it with new instalation of k-lite codec. It has integrated mkv codec, for playing mkv files in full resolution. Mkv can be played with standard avi player, but cannot read it properly.

K-lite i free and you can download it from the site directly. (app. 25MB size).

I use ImToo FLV converter and it converts just about any format to any other format.
