cd drive

hi all just got a acer notebook but it has no cd drive. so i cant install my printer or any thing that needs a cd to install things. so can any 1 tell me or send me a link for a cd drive that will plug in and play via usb

go to the support section of your printer manufaccturers website, search out your printer model and download the drivers for it.

You will be hard pressed to find a CD USB drive so you'll have to for out a bit extra and go for a DVDRW drive.

That said however I think you'll be better off buying a second hand laptop CD or DVD drive off ebay.

drivers worked a treat off the net thanx the thing about the cd or dvd drive is i need to connect it using a usb lead as i think we got our wires crossed

Hi m8... any external drive will work via usb.

another trick for installing drivers is by using a pc with a optical drive... copy the contents of the disc to a folder on your desktop ( simply highlight all the files, then copy and paste) now transfere the folder to the note/netbook, via a usb stick,open the folder and run the auto exe file and off you go.

hope this helps for when you can not find the drivers you need on the net.
