    DISK PARTITION

Can I partition my hard drive in my laptop without altering any software that is on the disk now, if so how, if not do I have to create a ghost image, partition the drive & then copy the image back on to the partitioned drive.
I want to create a dual boot system on a 320Gb hard drive & have XP & windows 7, with XP installed first.

Any help is appreciated and as simple as possible would be great.

yes bud, its easy... you need to use a partitioning tool.. i would recommend either Acronis or Partionmagic.. Both tools are available on the Hiren Boot CD

Download the boot CD from here >>> http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-193-mb-68646/

you need to have XP installed first so do not worry about that... you may need a third party boot agent for Win7 though (try easybcd), am not sure as i have not set up dual with that so far but you did with vista and Win7 is only the latest version of that anyway..

Have read of this, it should help you out big time..

    Code:

you have to pay for that if you want to get the same functionality available from apps on the HirenCD, only the downgraded home version is free so therefore not worth bothering with,,,
