    windows 7 with x86 utilities

    For the life of me, I can`t remember whether or not I have asked this question on DK before. But I appear to have the same problem as many, in that I am unable to download Studio 8.7 (from Duolabs). because it requires a x86 bit driver, which W7 doesn`t have.
    I purchased a DriverCure program from ParetoLogic, but despite their support dept`s best efforts, they are unable to help - so much for curing the driver problem.
    Has anyone managed to do what I cannot, and if so how, apart from replacing W7 with Vista or another earlier program - I`ve tried that within W7 and that doesn`t work either?

      I have the same problem and this bothers me for quite a long time,but I downloaded another program

          can you let me know which program, and will it work with a Diablo cam, or don`t you know?

              Don`t know if I`m answering myself here or not, but this is the answer that comes from the Windows 7 forum - errors aren`t mine, this has been cut & pasted:-

              The problem here is not Windows 7. That error would show up if you were using the 64bit version of XP or Vista as well - the developer of the software has not created a 64-bit driver, which the software relies upon.

              32-bit (aka, x86) drivers cannot be installed on a 64-bit system - there is no work around, the systems are physically incompatible.

              However, if you are using Windows 7 professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate, you can download Virtual Windows XP - then, you can install the program safely inside the               Virtual machine.

              Any programs that are 32-bit will run on windows 7 64-bit - unless they rely on 32-bit only drivers. If that's the case, then unfortunately we can't help - I'd suggest pestering the manufacturer of the program to develop an update, since 64-bit computing has been available mainstream now for 4 years, and available in concept since 2001, and with Windows 7 being the last version of windows to have 32 AND 64-bit versions, their software will soon become obsolete if not updated.

                  so, in short, those who can`t get W7 to work with studio 8.7 software have the one type of W7 which cannot download it, namely W7 Home premium - the other three - `professional`, `enterprise`, and `ultimate`, do not have a problem
