I had the problem with a netbook I just pu win 7 on. As soon as it went online the updates installed and the loader failed. Just uninstalled the updates and used the loader offline, got the authentication then updated all the updates. Works perfect.

now what. i read this way too late.

I was updating a friends computer and the authenticator update was in history so obviously i canceled its down load, unfortunately when I updated I hadn't read this thread and now it is on his computer. Does anybody know what I can do to get it off here.

when seeing it in updates uncheck right click it and select hide. Plus always a good a idea to do windows updates manually keeps you in control what is coming down

Does this update effect the amstrad cpc464..

I bought windows 7 from a guy off the cb radio a few years back..

Wouldnt want it to effect me because it came on 49 cassette tapes and took ages to load..!

Who's to say that KB971033 is not an important file that windows needs to stop hackers getting into your pc ?
If so then the original post could be getting all windows users to remove this file to allow unscrupulous hackers to acess your pc remotely without you knowing.
Before I do anything, and yes I have a genuine copy of win7,i want to see solid proof that this KB971033 actually does what the post claims.
I'd be very sceptical and wary if I were you, it is on my pc and it's staying until I see proof.
