anyone know how to reset a hp300 ink cartridge for ink levels all advice appreciated

hp300 ink cartridge reset
This will get the printer working OK but the lights will still flash.
Put a small piece of tape over the top left contact on the connection strip at the back of the cartridge. (Top left when looking at the contacts).
It is possible that experimenting with blanking other contacts (probably the top ones) will resolve the problem completely but for now this suits me.
I have only done this on my black cartridge as the HP F2480 printer is set as black ink only i.e. colour cartridge disabled.
Just think how much money a manufacturer would make if they advertised this printer works with refillable cartridges!!
