Locked Dell dmini 1012 HDD
I cleared bios password by removing/replacing cmos battery, then got HDD password message. Tried generator which gave me zccio197 - didn't work.
HDD password error code: 10567
Service tag: 71823L1 -no suffix
HDD Serial: wxt0eb9pvp03
Generator won't recognize the HDD SN because it has 12 digits instead of 11. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!Leave a comment:

are you using a qwerty type keyboard
have you inputted the password in lower case
have you tried pressing Ctrl+Enter after inputting password
I am using a QWERTY keyboard (even tried attaching a separate USB one). I did input all the letters in lower case and also tried the CTRL+Enter method. Still no go, but thanks for the input!Leave a comment:

that password is correct, a couple of questionsHello everyone!
I stumbled across this thread because of a similar issue with a Dell Latitude D630. I have a user that said they suddenly had this pre-boot authentication screen popup out of the blue.
The service tag for this machine is GTJ3QG1-595B. I have called Dell and they provided me with a master password of 4qlkgwqc which I have also corroborated using the Dell.exe password generator.
The password does not work, however. I looked into shorting the pins on the EEPROM but that's apparently impossible with this model. External USB keyboard does not make any difference.
Is there anything else that can be done or am I looking at a replacement motherboard?
Thanks!
