    How to USB1.0 to USB2.0

    Hi Guys

    i have a laptop running xp but the usb ports are v 1.0 what options are there to change these to USB 2.0 other than adaptors can anything be changed/altered inside

    i do not think you can change usb 1 to 2 especially on a laptop in a tower that runs only usb 1 you at could at least fit a pci card with usb2 but in a laptop you do not have that option.

      Does the laptop have a PCMCIA or PC card slot?

        you need a pcmania card slot and y have to buy a pcmania card with usb 2.0

          i have installed pcmcia usb2.0+firewire card in my compaq evo n600c - speed increasing is impressive... now i'm thinking about bying smaller card, without external parts - which i can't broke

            @ uncle_sem did you card have to also take power from an existing usb port and what will you get that wont have external parts?

                  my adapter also have external power jack, but i guess it's only needed for external hdd's, etc. cardreaders and flash-drives works fine without external power
