I have been using my Logitech MX 1000 for years. Still holds a charge for at least a week with off and on use throughout the day.

but maybe you just need to move the receiver to another place or re-syncronize the devices? when the receiver of my logitech kbd+mouse is located near the cellphone and i have incoming call - keyboard and mouse are freezing...
