need help to change a .zip file to a .ipsw

how would i do this as win 7 64bit wont seam to let me

downloaded 4.0.1 for iphone its a zip , I need to change it to .ipsw so itunes can see it , so i can update from 3.1.3 to 4.0.1 as i dont want to go on 4.0.2 as no jb on 4.0.2

When you download these files Windows defaults them to .zip.

In the file, save as window you clicked through the one below the filename allows you to choose the file type. Change it to all files and then add .IPSW to your file name - Simplessss
