    how to test your ping using windows

    click start
    all programmes
    select accessories
    select command prompt
    once it opens type in ping then a spacce then type www.google.com and hit enter after a few seconds your result will come up you will have a minimum a maximum and average the average is your result

    just tried that my average is 88ms is that bad...

      min/avg/max/mdev = 89.829/94.059/115.763/8.230 ms

            mmmm, is it not lower ping time values which are better.

            the ping, is the time taken for server to respond to your computers request,then the server to report back to your pc.....
            therefore lower is better (faster)....

            mines 24ms by the way

                Min:20ms - Max:31ms - Avr:24ms

                Provider ntl a upc company.

                          U can also (XP):
                          Click Start > Run"box" > type in: cmd >hit ok >type: ping www.google.com

                          Average: 44ms

                            This also depends on which site you ping off.

                            Google average 24ms

                            DK average 128ms

                            Virginmedia average 26ms

                            Cable connection via VM
