    Hi Lads, Has anyone got a Seagate 500gig external harddrive if so can you advise what the PSU DC voltage is guessing either 5 or 12 volt

    There are a couple different models for seagate 500gb external drives. which model is it you have?

      Thanks for the quick response although th HD has no model no. on it checking their site it looks to be Model ST305004EXA101-RK 500 GB one mistake i made in my request 6 volt not 5 volt if i am correct. so the request is which voltage 6v or 12 v

        that model would mean it is a a seagate expansion model and would therefore have a 12v power adapter with interchangeable pins depending on the country you are using it in

          Lancashire, UK. Found a 12volt power supply and checked it out works perfick. Many thanks for your time and attention. Cheers
