    What lead do i need???

    Hello people. Just quick one. Which lead do i need to watch my laptop through my telly, for instance, if ive got a footy stream on my laptop and i wanna stick it on my tv, what lead would be best and what does my telly need for me to do this? Every reply welcome, cheers!!!

        naggy1 just a vga cable and a sound output from your lappy to your telly will work like a roony granny wInk with an A, only cheaper!!

                good point dasteph. also you need to select pc input on your tv.

                there is normally a toggle button on your laptop. f6 7 8 or 9 key at the top, you want the one which has a rectangular screen shape on it. you hold down the FN key on the bottom LH of keyboard and then click the other button and it will possible have 3 settings which you can toggle through..bye clicking the F* button again for instance. 1 click is pc only, 2 ....pc and external monitor. 3 ...external monitor with blank lappy screen.

                  Or just go to advanced display settings and setup dual desktops

                    Thanks for the tips guys, it was the wrong lead altogether haha, gonna look on the bay later and see if i can get one cheap. Ive got a compaq presario v6000 so if anyone knows off the top of their head what lead i'll need id be greatful if they would post it on here. Ive looked at the link maca posted but im still not sure.....im not the sharpest tool in the box!

                      i have a hp g6000 which is the same laptop as yours and to connect to my tv i use a s video lead instead of a vga cable.
