    hd-dvd backup

    hi guys can anyone help please looking to back up my 200+ hd-dvds to a harddrive to use on a media player any one got a knobs guide on how to do this please

    you need to rip the discs to the hd with a prog like dvd fab hd decrypter.

      iam using makemkv to rip then thing is there coming out at 13-22gbs a movie is there any why i can compress them down ??? i have 28 movies on a 1tb hdd and used up 550gbs so with 200 or so movies at this rate i will need 10 hdds

        have a look at BD rebuilder in the following link which might help to reduce the size of the stored files, i have also added a guide on how to use it.

          thanks for your reply m8 have tryed that and can get it to see the hd-dvds is it just for bur-ray discs???

            i have searched for compression software for HD DVDs which seems difficult to find as the discs are now no longer produced the only sugestion is to try it with BDrebuilder and see if it will work and compress one of your files.

              Have a read here Billy, takes along time to compress the size of MKV's though

                thats no joke m8 been running 24hrs now and only 6,2% on pass 2 so looking good for 2011 pmsl .

                any of you guys know if you can build a nas from an old pc ???
