this is one of the few models, you can clear the password by removing the battery and the internal real-time battery.

a quick answer would be this: HDD Unlock - Purchase it can be unlocked simple

or you could try hirens boot cd

If you have the guarantee the normal procedures for most notebooks require that you contact HP technical support for assistance do not tamper with the screws but if your guarantee has expired then follow these instructions they may help you.
This is what I do when I buy Laptop with a password, to clear password remove your main battery and you will have to remove some plastics to get to the notebook motherboard now on the motherboard you will have to find internal real-time battery you unsolder that battery for 5 minutes put every thing back and job done.

the hdd password is stored in the HDD not on the motherboard, for what use to remove the cmos battery if the hdd is the one with the password?
