    Optiarc dvd-rw drive

Im having problems with my dvd-rw drive, its 3 mnths old and i think its under warrenty still. Basically the drive show's up in my computer but it wont read any type of disk's cd or dvd at all. I try and open the drive and all it does is eject the disk. I have looked at it in device manager and there are no yellow icon there and it says the drive is in full working order I've also been onto the manufacturer's website but there is no fireware to install for it at all.
    The dvd-rw model is a Optiarc AD-5260s

    Any help/advice is much grateful.

Sounds buggered, but I would check that the power & SATA lead are fully inserted. If it's still the same try changing the SATA port used on the motherboard.

I have changed the sata lead port in the motherboard as you suggested, it installed the driver software straight away when i rebooted but i still have the same problem so i think i will take it back to the shop tomorrow as it should still be under warrenty.
      Thanks anyway
