      reset your battery by running it down to its last before recharging.
      Lithium ion have a tendency to develop "recharge memory" and need fully cycled every so often.
      Its not great for the battery though so don't do it too often (li-ion don't like deep hard discharges)

      Just leave your laptop on doing absolutely nothing but sitting at the desktop till it powers off, then recharge it to reset and do the least amount of damage to the cell.

        Lithium cells don't develop memory, Deep discharge like you say will cause shorter life. AND it will increase the "wear level" factor as well.

        Why is bad advice like this all over the internet?
