    Bluetooth question

Google has let me down, so I have come to the font of all knowledge.

My daughter has Lego Mindstorms robot kit, which has built in class 2 bluetooth, the robot can be controlled from the PV via bluetooth.
I have given her a Belkin USB class 2 bluetooth adapter which works fine, except for the 10m range, indoors.
My question is, if I buy a class 1 bluetooth adapter, does the class 2 adapter in the robot mean that the range is still restricted to 10m indoors.

    Hope someone can enlighten me.
    Thanks in advance

It will all depend on the robots functions. If it sends back data to the PC, then you will either need a high gain bluetooth antenna, or stick to 10m.

If there's no return signals sent, then the more powerful class 1 emitter will work fine over 10m.

Thanks guys, did not think of wikipedia, I do not think the robot sends replies back, just the handshake (or whatever it is called).
