are you burning as a dvd? to play in a standalone dvd player?
if so then yes, your avi will need converting to .vob and .dat files.
Conversion software is all much of a muchness, and even a more powerful pc will only give a nominal increase in conversion time.
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

what do u mean burning fast do u mean after u have converted avi file to dvd file. id say 40-45 mins converting and in my case 20-25 mins burning to dvd at x 4 burning speed(less likely to get errors).
