    DVD to DivX convertor anyone?

    Evening,
I got a WD Elements Play today and tried in vain to load some DVD's on.I phoned my friend who informed me that I need to convert these to DivX-can anyone point me in the direction of such a program either freeware or the like-must be reasonably easy as I'm new to this type of decoding. No wonder my Peep Show wouldn't play from it,all juddery just like my ability!!All help gratefully received,
    Best wishes,Craig,Nottingham.

Never used it myself. I have DVDx to convert my DVD's to AVI.

It took me a while to find it, but the only other thing you will need are the output settings. This varies on the DVD screen format..

You just check the DVD case for the format (16:9 is 1.78, just divide 16/9=1.777)

Then work out how big you want the final picture to be. My phone will take anything up to 640x360 on a 1.78 ratio.

If you get the ratio wrong the picture will be either squashed or stretched.
