    strange virus

    Hi
I have had a strange virus pop up over the last few days, that i cant find any information on, so i am hoping some one can help.
Its on a laptop running windows xp, and i will get a message box appear saying that microsoft wants to update java, through website fa12.co.cc
The only way i can get rid of it is to not press anything but switch off at the power button, it may then be ok for the rest of the day, or just for an hour, its really unpredictable.
Has any one come accross this one before, and can you offer any advice.
    Thanks for your time

goto javas website and download the lates file from them
and then if it still keeps poping up try scanning for malware virus etc etc with your anti virus protection
    see what happens

      Hi
      Thanks for the reply.
We have done exactly that, and countless scans with diffrent antiviruses and malware/adware programmes but we are still getting it.

its a big problem at the mo , looks like an Advert site has been infected i use a music festival site that had the same problem this weekend .

looks like a java window tries to download , this then install 2 infected files called cBbFkFg06300 , all i did was run task manager and stop the prosses from running then delete the 2 files.

Sound very similar to this one, we got it off e-bay.
after running spybot for the umpteenth time it finally found a security bypass file. Got rid of that and fingers crossed it seems to be ok now.
          Thanks for your help.

i can recommend Malwarebytes Anti malware, its free and fantastic for a free malware remover, just google it or download from filehippo.com
I couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it.
