thanks for your replie the gaurantee has just run out its was working fine until i dropped the remote on ahard floor it went off and has not worked since

Do you mean LG & not LC. Does the remote have a DVD/TV button?
Press the TV button if it has one, then make sure you have the right tuner selected. My LG has both analogue & DTV tuners on the same antenna input.

The TV button is in the top left corner & lights up when any button is pressed.

Agree with Canker_Canison his advice is spot on.
You must make sure you are in the correct mode for using an ariel.

Also to go with @Cankers advice ... ensure you have the right input selected ... top right on my remote ...

ie : freesat ... freeview ... hdmi ... scart ... ect

If your remote doesn't work, use the mode button on the tv and select DTV..
