    Hisense Media Player/Tversity or Xbmc

Sorry but this post could be long winded as I seem to be going round in circles but bear with me please.

I have a Hisense media player and basically wanted to attach a large external drive to it with all my movies on it, but didn't just want a long list of films when flicking through it. Wanted something like xbmc or even Tversity to use as my media centre and then stream to my Hisense and obviously then to my TV. My question is this - Is it possible?

Have managed to get the Net part and I think the UPnP part on the Hisense to work (although can't see what the difference between these two are at the moment cause they both seem to only to be able to browse the folders on my laptop.) Tversity appears to be talking to the Hisense as the folder appears in the UPnP section on the Hisense but when I play a movie on the laptop it doesn't stream (I must be missing a step). Is there an idiots guide anywhere because my head hurts?
I could connect the laptop to the tv via VGA but lose quality and would be a waste of the Hisense and wireless option.

It looks like I can stream to my wii fairly easily but obviously the quality of video will be poorer.

Any ideas or help would be gratefully accepted
