Im pretty new at using linux let alone the locked version that is on the dm500. I've been pulling my hair out for the last week trying to get a solution to my problem but I have to admit I now need help. I need some sort of keep alive to be sent out from my box to keep a 3g connection open. If i telnet to the device i can run a ping which works fine but i cant seem to find anyway of automating it on boot up. All boot files are read only and i have tried following some instructions on here to take a snapshot, edit and reinsert (didnt work). I've also tried a script plugin which runs a script (not a problem pressing the yellow button to do this) but when you exit it, it closes the ping. nohup isnt present in the image so i cant even use that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
