    Newbie Samsung LED 7000 Problem

    Hi
Wondering if you can help (& I hope this hasn?t been asked too many times!).
I have had my 7000 for 15 months and have been reasonably happy with it. It broke down after 42 days and had to be sent away for repair as Currys refused to replace it!
I really not happy with the picture quality in three areas:
    1) The main problem is during dark scenes, the areas of black go grey, cloudy and almost unwatchable. This is worse if you are not sitting exactly head on to the tv.
    2) There is flickering as if the picture is struggling to keep up. This shows worse when a moving object passes by railings etc
    3) Ghosting, again in dark scenes when viewing a face, it will move around ? very bizarre!
My brother altered the brightness settings which helped for a while but over the last month it seems to be getting worse!
This is happening through all sources, Sky HD, Samsung Blu-ray which are all connected by good quality HDMIcables.
The tv is set to 100htz but (again sorry if this has been covered) am I missing something obvious in settings?
    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Other users recommend a firmware update or a factory reset.
    Menu>Picture Options>reset to factory.

All goods sold must be fit for purpose, if your TV is not performing as you expected this could be deemed as not fit for purpose. You are also entitled to ask for a replacement, if you feel the set was not repaired properly.
The law is very clear, most retailers try to convince you otherwise, mostly depends on how far someone is willing to pursue the matter.
    Repair > Replace >Refund.

      Thank you for the reply.
I've tried the factory reset without success.
The repair wasn't related to this fault, in that the picture wouldn't come on at all!
How long is the 'fit for purpose' in effect as the tv is now 15 months old?

Time frame is not set in stone but legally items must be as described, fit for purpose and last a 'reasonable' amount of time.
Price and usage would be taken into consideration, as the set developed a fault within a 6 month period you could argue that this was an inherent fault that was not rectified properly.
The burden of proof lies with you after a 6 month period and you have up to 6 years to claim from seller.

Thats a basic summary, have a look at the Sale of Goods Act for a more detailed explanation.

I have the same tv and found turning off motion led plus fixed the stuttering and clouding. I had to send mine back to be replaced also. Do you have a problem with 'searchlights' from all four corners when watching dark scenes?
