    CCTV recording onto Humax PVR.

    Afternoon,
I want to record from my CCTV camera to a suitable device.I was wondering if I could record onto a Humax PVR's hard drive or will they only record from the twin tuner? If this is not possible can anyone suggest an alternative. The reason I'm asking about Freesat PVR in particular is that I will be using the equipment in the kitchen which already has a Humax box in it.All help and suggestions are appreciated.

AFAIK Humax PVR's can only record from the internal tuners.
You could set up a dedicated system quite cheaply from old pc parts, add a cheap DVR card and some BNC connectors. Plenty of good software that you can configure to your needs that way.

Any suggestions on a DVR with Hard Drive? The TV is an old VCR combi but clearly won't record enough footage for when we are on holiday.Ideally need enough to continually record for a week on SD.
      Many thanks,

Specs would vary greatly depending on needs and budget.

A basic setup would consist of:

        Pentium Processor or similar
        2gb of ram (4gb preferred)
500gb Hdd (size to suit your needs)
capture card suitable for your camera, check inputs/outputs
        software suitable for capture.
(MB, optical drive, psu, case + other essentials)

There are various capture cards available, find one that best suits your needs/budget. You can get cheap, Chinese clones for under a tenner that work quite well but can be tricky to setup. Have used a few and they work fine once you configure the drivers.
