    DVD-R or DVD+ ?

About 4yrs ago a bought a dvd player at my local computer fair it used to play all copy dvdr. I recently bought dvd+ blanks but they play for a while then about halfway through a movie the disc stops and starts (ac-3)pops up before it starts again, its a pain in the arse. I did used to buy dvd- i didn't seem to have a problem with these discs. I wonder wether its the file format thats the main cause of the problem and not the discs as i have read up on different dvdr formats.

The following link DVD FAQ has a lot of information about the various dvd formats. See section 4.3 onwards. Although it doesn't give a precise answer, it seems to imply differences in the reflectivity of the disk surface.
