Samsung 6100 D series

Hi everyone, i have the Samsung 46" 6100 D series. It says i cannot surf on this set and an email to Samsung got a reply that says that facility is built into the hardware. This i refuse to believe. I may be stupid, but surely surfing can be done with the firmware. Can anyone verify this for me, or is there a way to do without waiting for a firmware upgrade to allow me. Any help would be received with thanks

I thing this series is able to install Samsung apps. And all the info talk about social networks like facebook and others.
I have a 6000 Series and it doesn't have this facility, I the 6100 series yes it have.

Yes the 6100 D series does install apps, but it an app for surfing i would like.
