Media Streamer or Hard Drive Causing Problems

i have a Western Digital Media Streamer, it's a couple of years old. i also have a toshiba 1 tb external hard drive that i use via usb to stream movies to the WD streamer.

i have about 700 gb on the hard drive, it was working fine until i put about 85 gb of movies on it last week. since then it only play sometimes on the WD media streamer, it just goes into the movie and stays blank other times. the hard drive has been defragged and seems to work fine when plugged into laptop, ie all the movies play.

    any ideas?

Can you link me to the same version eva?

The older version (non live) doe not support all versions, i had 1 that would not support DTS so bought the Live that did.

Have you tried different rips of the movies? or is always the same movies you copy over.

Also gues you checked for FW updates also

it doesnt seem to make any difference what the rips are cunny, for example it played girl with a dragon tattoo mkv for me on sunday, wont play any movies at all now.

i didnt realise they did firmware updates, will try that and let you know thanks

think its WDAVN00, disk i have says firmware 1.2 and there is a 1.3 on their site

Then drop the new FW at root of a usb device and insert and update. See if that helps

Also noticed that it is the same as my old 1. I had issues with the MKV performance. In the end i bit the bullet and bought the live version (streams over network/internet) and its a huge improvement
