    Panasonic GT30 Series

Just bought a Panasonic GT30 Series plasma 3D TV, just wanted to know the best way to view movies off a 32gb NFTS formatted usb stick, ( if it can be done ) and whats the procedure of doing it. i.e to play a blueray backup MKV file, does it need converting if so to what.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

from experience the tv doesnt cope to well with 3d mkvs it sort of lags and the image stays on the screen, i run mine thorugh a ps3 or a bluray player as it processes the files a lot smoother and elimantes the lag completely

from usb it stutters through playback via the tvs socket through bluray depends on your bluray player too be honest, i have this tv upstairs in bedroom and stream all media via ps3 to it, its a fantastic tv and rivals my sony 55 inch 3d tv that i have downstairs

yep should be mate, try it and find out, you will know if it stutters it like the frames u watched are still on screen and the image has moved on if that makes sense

                ok update!

                I HAVE FAILED!

got my mkv file, converted it using mkv2vob programme, source file = name.mkv, destination file to usb drive ( formatted to fat32 ), clicked all the relevent boxes as per the tutorial.
                Started
                Completed
looked on the usb stick and saw a folder named with the film, looked in the folder another folder called avchd so as per tutorial made sure avchd file is in the root of the usb.

Plugged into bluray played, file not supported.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction.

Apolgies in advanced if im sounding thick

I have even dragged the mkv file direct to usb too.

only way to be sure of files playing is buy a media player like the wdtv live, this box will play just about any media type you can throw at it, theres cheaper media players out there but they probably wont support as many video formats as the wdtv.

problem is moderngirl is the fat32 needs to be ntfs as anything over 4gb wont be read so change the format to that and then copy again should hopefully work for u then

Tried the ways u mentioned but both devices state unsupported file .
I formatted the usb(right mouse button ,format, select ntfs then start) i assume im doing that right.
Then my .mkv file(10gb) i drag onto the newly formatted 32gb stick.

Not sure where am going wrong!

is it a 3d mkv or just a normal mkv?

have u tried other as sometimes the type of audio that it was ripped with sometimes stops it playing th eonly one i had probs with was the smurfs
