    LG 3dtv

    hi,
I am thinking of buying a 3dtv passive ...i am looking at the LG range the only problem is although it plays MKV's it does not play dts sound?
Is there a LG that does?
If not if i bought a MKV/dts player and stored 3d movies on a hard drive would this work?
    thanks...

I've got an lg47lw550t and am very happy with it.

When I first got the tv I used a WDTV Live to play the 3d movies with DTS and this worked fine.

However now I dont use the WDTV anymore I just convert the movies using Popcorn Hour Audio Converter and then they play with sound just using the TV.

The best feature of the TV is Medialink which is a Plex client. I store all my movies and TV shows on a Plex Server and the TV just streams them all across the network.

Yep, my server is on all the time. Its a HP Microserver which doesn't use much power. Not sure if you can get Plex server to run on a NAS device.

I also have Sickbeard and sabnzb installed on it so it automatically downloads the latest episodes of TV series as soon as they have been on in the states.

I've also got a couple of jailbroken Apple TV boxes with plex client on them in other rooms so we can access all the movies and TV shows from there too.

Can recommend the micro server, and the setup above has transformed TV viewing in our house. Got rid of sky and not missing it.

Just plug the HDD straight into the TV , if the file has DTS then it will need converting to DD.

No such thing as 1.4 cable.
                      Cables are either
                      Regular
                      High speed
                      High speed with Ethernet

1.1>1.4 spec only applies to the actual hardware.
                      and not cables.
