    Laptop to bravia streaming

I have a kdl46nx703 sony bravia back lit led tv and when i stream content like video files from my laptop to my tv it gives such a blocky sort of picture and when i play the same file from my hdd media player it plays perfect connected through hdmi, i just wanted to stream the video in perfect quality to my tv but no file comes out clear for some reason, i have 60mb broadband and my tv is connected through a ethernet wire to my router and my laptops wireless, everythings in my room my router and my laptop and obviously my tv. Any suggestions on how to get a clearer picture on my tv through streaming?

seems to me its your wireless thats at fault, try hard wiring your lappy you will see then, i have a sony tv thats connected to router via ethernet, same with my pooter via ethernet, i use the home media server serviio ( link in my sig ) for streaming from pooter to tv, i dont get any problems with blocky pics etc.

Another in agreement with gmb remember to choose the sony 2010 profile and not 2011 for your tv on serviio for trouble free streaming. By the way serviio also has an android app that lets you control everything from your phone, handy when the kids are using pooter.

Worked a treat but is there anyway to adjust the screen size appart from the tv settings my pictures to wide when on playback and the tv settings arent that good.

As far as I can remember you will only ever be able stream in the original aspect ratio then change to the required output with the tv, are you using serviio to stream????? If so just go and have a read on the serviio forum if the aspect ratio can be changed they will give you the answers, I can't get into my settings atm to check for you
