    Panasonic Tv + DvD recorder

    Hi

    I have a Panasonic Viera Tv (TX-P42X10B) & a Panasonic DvD Recorder (DMR-EZ28).
According to the DvD Recorder manual if i use DvD-Ram discs the recording will be in 16.9 Aspect Ratio.I archive some Tv programes for watching @ a later date. But what i have discovered when i transfer recordings to my PC for ad removal. The recorded file is showing an Aspect Ratio of 4:3 i then convert files using Handbrake and the file comes out @ 16:9 :/.Anyone shed any light on this as i am slightly confused

    thanks for any help given

Your PC's media player is not reading the aspect ratio of the recorded file and displaying it accordingly, the recording will be a 720x576 pixel ratio, even if its widescreen, so your player is just playing it back as a 720x576 file... Handbrake is obviously seeing the recording as widescreen aspect.. Have a look in your media player settings to see how its set to handle aspect ratios...
