Without knowing what its connected to and how its connected the only advice that can be given at this stage is that he should use the remote controls volume control buttons to turn the volume up..

They've tried all volume controls no luck. It's not connected to any box like we have sky boxes here, they have cable channels coming through coax arial, some channels are missing when they were tuned but the ones that they did pick up there is a picture but no sound

The technical specifications Panasonic give for this TV is confusing. It doesnt indicate that it has a DVB-C tuner, only DVB-T, so I dont understand how your friends are tuning in any Cable channels..

But if the TV does actually have a cable tuner, Panasonic tech spec for the TV says this:
" DVB-C feature is available only in following countries: / Sweden (ComHem, Canal Digital), Demark (YouSee), Norway (Canal Digital), Finland (Cable Ready HD), Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands"

Here is a link to the manual, http://tda.panasonic-europe-service..../TQB0E0898.pdf Connect something simple like a vcr or dvd player to the composite video input and check for audio, it may be a simple as the speakers turned off in the menu.

Dont mean to sound rude but, why dont you browse the Panasonic website and find the manual yourself, its gotta be quicker than posting on here and waiting for somebody else to find it for you...
