plex as server but what player for another pc

Hi guys i have plex server on my main pc and have installed plex on my laptop but for some reason it will not close when opened on the laptop so wondered if theres another way to watch the servers films
i'm running windows xp pro

have you tried playon ? host pc needs to have vlc and don't get full version is you just want to stream as lite one is free and runs fine as a streamer (also streams to consoles etc etc)
