LCD tv error white line

My lad has a 27" LCD and sometimes there is a pure white line right down the centre of panel from top to bottom, if you give the tv a shake sometimes it goes away. He got it in Currys and they said they want ?90 to look at it and ?200 to fix it....pmsl, he could buy a new one for that ffs robbing bassa's.

Anyone any ideas as to what the problem may be.

What happened with the line on the screen mate, did you bin it or did you get the conmen to fix it... Generally when you start getting a static while line the panel shagged but sometimes it can be remedied by flexing it whoich means you need to put a wedge in the casing of your Tv to maintain the fex that clears the line..

i have this problem in my samsung 42" too.
i asked someone and he said it's because of failure of a capacitor.
i will ask details and inform u when get it.
