samsung ps50q96hd sound but no picture

Well as above a great start to the year was watching tv, then the picture went off but the sound is still there.
My question is this a easy cheap fix or bite the bullet and buy a new tv

This is a plasma tv, the problem could be almost anything but most likely the upper and/or lower buffer boards and possibly the Y-sustain or Z-sustain boards, or it could be any other board involved with producing the video including a defective plasma panel.

Have you checked your leads are all connected properly and pushed all the way in???
