Okay, I realise this isn't strictly about satellite TV so I hope I don't get into trouble with the mods...or maybe they can move it to where they feel it is more appropriate.

Recently moved house and no dish and there won't be for a while so I'm looking in to the whole IPTV malarkey. Noticed this Now TV box from Uncle Keith's lot and seems intriguing for a tenner especially as I am a cheapskate. Just looking to see if anybody here has any experiences with it and whether it's worth being a cheapskate or splashing out a bit more for a better experience.

Any experience using Plex on these Now TV boxes and loading the IPTV.bundle from cigaras? Did it work for your own IPTV stream links? My laptop is a bit crappy and so will Plex media server run okay on it or will it bring it to a grinding halt? Overall, how did you rate the experience?

Buy one! It's basically a rebadged roku box but at 20% of the normal price.

I have a 3 year old laptop running my server albeit i dont have now tv but the inlaws have a roku

My lappy is perm on.. lid shut.. rss feeds setup to download tv shows automatically.. I serve my Smart tv at home.. a roku box and a smart tv at the inlaws property.. The laptop probably needs a reboot once a month but as long as it has the space and it relatively new in good order/ good ram etc it should be fine..

I also serve spanish feeds.. albeit there is only 6 channels... they run really well even in HD..

A tenner is a steal when you get plex running!

I have one running Plex best tenner I ever spent. Although bought a roku 1 yesterday for 40 quid as got a new tv and the Now TV only goes up to 720p so needed tot he Roku for 1080p

So are these capable of recieving the same stuff as a 3rd party iptv box, or do they need some kind of hack first? Will they stream free internet content as is?

did you find a way of doing this, im attempting the same thing streaming to side loaded plex on now tv from vu+ I have tried the iptv plugin on plex server with custom channel list taken from vu+ stream .m3u works fine streaming in vlc but not in plex
