LG tv and usb

I can't get my tv to recognise the usb. I've googled it and I've to hold two buttons together and another menu will come up on screen in which i enable the tv to recognise the usb. But it doesn't seem to pop up. Anyone any ideas?

Not without the tv model number and type of usb stick.

The USB is just a wee 8g flash drive

I know it should be like that. But its not for some reason. The way to get the secret menu up to change it when you turn the tv on isn't working. Hope one of you's might know another way.

so you dont want to play a film on usb stick but you have an image/update you want to use so thats why usb is needed.
in that case your looking for engineers code,best looking on their site.

Maybe is fat32 and need to change it to ntfs?

Can't find many images of tv or specs. Does the tv play usb movies or are you trying to make it do so from usb service port? If so read this it may help. Firmware Hack And Firmware updates LG LH/LF Series - AVS Forum

i downloaded a 3.15 file to upgrade and it worked
