dvd hd recorders

can anyone tell me please?
if i got one of those dvd players with a hard drive on it, can i record programs onto it from my cable box or does it only record from its own built in tuner?

why dont you just buy a box with a harddrive then you wont need a dvd recorder then you will have a spare box for a bedroom

DB 500 600 are eurovox 500pvr might make a good option


but yeh you can record movies of none cable company boxes as there movies are streamed encrypted for the last 10 mins of the movie so you need a non CC box

Ive got a dbox, need to upgrade my dvd player anyway so I was thinking about one of the sony ones with a hard drive.
Also Ive had problems with adding another box, they both start freezing and jumping, tried using a signal booster but that doesnt help.
