cheers dude, i'm running the latest version of Ubuntu and not to keen on it.
i cant find ~~~~'all nor get used to it, the menu system has changed, may roll back to an older one.
I'm not keen on it either a lot of people seem to not like it.
But before you roll back, log out (not shut down).
Click on you user to log back on, but before you do, on the bottom of the screen, in the right most menu is an option for Ubuntu Classic, choose that and log back on. That should give you you old look back.
To make the change permanent. In the old style menu go System - Administration - Login Screen.
Click Unlock - Put in your password
And choose Select Ubuntu Classic as default session, then close. This should default you to the old look.
As i understand it what you end up with is not the actual old type desktop but Ubuntu's unity's version of the old type desktop. Which for me is good enough. If you want to go fully back to the old type desktop, it can be done but it is more work.
