shame the ubuntu version they are offering is out of date and superceeded by a far improved version...

just in case anybody wants it and its good for a linux beginner and the most commonly used distribution.

    Code:
    http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-netbook

          Mint

Linux Mint, derived from Ubuntu is cool also and is suitable for newbies. The latest Helena is built from karmic koala.

I use mint as the only OS and have done on my desktop for over a year, I wonder if Docky works on there.

It is very good indeed. Professionally I've been Windows based for many years and have just taken another look at Ubuntu. Really impressed by the new version and would certainly recommend it as a good one for Windows users to try out.
