    Ubuntu what to choose

I want to install a operating system in my ps3 but there are so many to choose from that do different things, can someone help me choose. I want to be able to download off divx, music, movies, email just the general things and things some of you might think i'll find useful. The language is a problem, is their anywhere online i can go to in order to understand the various words and phrases used in linux ubuntu. Thanks guys n gals for your replies.

I don't think you can install Linux on the ps3 anymore. I think they got rid of the otherOS feature.

Start here (https://help.ubuntu.com/)and choose a release you want (I would use the latest 10.04 LTS) and zoom in. Enjoy.

Well, don't forget that the PS3 compatible version is called Xubuntu, available @ Xubuntu Home Page | Xubuntu

the problem with linux is the problem of compatibility whith programs
alls programs are developed for windows and no mores for linux

i think it's not dependent on if you update or not, i beleive the newer boxes were shipped without the option to install. maybe it was the 'lite' version rather than the older full blown version.
