Is it possible to install the asdm direct from a file to laptop without downloading it from the router first.

            thanks

                    Hi,

I'm new here. Can I upgrade to 8.4 from 7.2? will there be any issue if I do that?

                    Thanks.

If you want to upgrade your ASA from 7.x to 8.3 or later, you have to migrate some settings (like NAT) in your config.
                      For details look here:
Cisco ASA 5500 Migration to Version 8.3 and Later [Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances] - Cisco Systems

Additional you maybe have to upgrade the DRAM. Cisco has new requirements since 8.3 (see the release notes)

                          Unlikely that will work.

Anyone knows the difference between the Redundant interfaces and Etherchannel functionality in the new ASA code? Is it same? Can I use etherchannel across the two redundant ASa to connect to two 3750s in a stack?

                              Thanks so much.
It is not the same, the redundant option is simply for interface failover. Yes you can use etherchannel from the ASA to cross stack switches.

Here is the config for the switch side: Cross-Stack EtherChannel on a Catalyst 3750 Switch Configuration Example - Cisco Systems

You need to update ASDM to a version compatible with you ASA Software version.
